Starbucks Italian Roast – Dark Roast is a very nice blend if you are into coffee on the dark side. It has receive a 4.7 out of 5 potential star ratings on Starbucks Website with over 1300 reviews. That is a pretty good review in my opinion. This coffee is very nice is taste and something that most people would enjoy. I brewed this coffee in an early 1970’s Percolator. It brewed out nicely. The color was perfect and the taste was rich and bold.
Starbucks describes this coffee on their website – This is Starbucks quintessential dark roast—expertly crafted to bring out sweetness and intensity. It showcases the precision and skill of our roasters, who created a coffee that’s slightly darker than our Espresso Roast without the smoky edge of French Roast. A great cup of coffee, it has a depth of flavor that holds its own with cream and sugar.
At the very top of the website when you go to order it describes it as “tasty and sweet” and then “Intense with a rich, deep flavor and notes of caramelized sugar.” I agree. I received all of those flavors when I brewed this coffee up.
I had the whole bean and only ground up what I need for each morning. I use 8 ounces per 8 cups and that makes it perfect for me. I also have received many complements about how good the coffee is from others that drink it with me here at the office.
