One day (2-4-18) the wife and I decided to take a road trip to the Ozarks NF. We really didn’t know where we were going but had a map to guide us. LIndsey Motor Highway is an amazing drive. A couple water crossings right off the bat and follow alongside a beautiful river. It takes you up the mountain. Then we found the infamous Blue Hole Road by accident. We really didn’t know what we were getting into but we thought “with a name like Blue Hole, it should be interesting.” After descending down the mountain into the valley we came upon a very narrow section where the trail took you between some tight trees. At this point we almost turned around. But we kept on and we are so glad we did. The Blue Hole, and the waterfalls that surround it are so beautiful we are definitely going back. There is a flat spot beside the large waterfall where someone has made a campsite with fire ring. It was very cool in this area so it would be a good place to go when it’s hot. We turned around from there and came back out the way we drove in since we knew what to expect that way and it was getting late. Good thing we did. Several guys on forums stated that if we had kept going it would have been impassible.
